Upcoming Race – 1 in 8k Moore for the Cure | 8k, 1k

Join us for the 1 in 8k, Saturday, September 7 at 8:00 am. The main race is an 8k, and there is also a 1k fun run for those who wish to participate at a shorter distance. The 8k distance was decided as statistics show that 1 out of every 8 women will develop breast cancer at some time in their lives.

By participating in this event, you can help change that statistic! All proceeds go to the Triangle to the Coast Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, bringing funds and attention to breast cancer awareness, screening, and research. Every year, our local Susan G. Komen affiliate awards over $1 million in grants to local agencies for breast cancer education and screening. Last year, a generous grant was awarded to FirstHealth of the Carolinas, in partnership with the Moore Free Care Clinic and Pinehurst Radiology, to help provide mammograms and treatment to underprivileged women in Moore County.
