Upcoming Race – 1 in 8k | 8k and 1k Run

Sandhills Race Series kicks off its 2014 Fall Series with the 1 in 8k on Saturday, September 6.  The race benefits the Susan G. Komen for the Cure-NC Triangle to the Coast Affiliate.  One in eight women have or will develop breast cancer in her  lifetime.

Race Information

The race will begin in front of Given Memorial Library in Pinehurst, NC (150 Cherokee Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374).  The 8k begins at 8:00 am.  The course runs through the historic Village of Pinehurst, Rassie Wicker Park, and the Village Arboretum (4.97 miles).  Awards will be given to the overall first place winners (male/female), the first survivor finisher, and age group winners (first, second, and third place).

The 1k Fun Run/Walk will begin at 10:30 am, this race is not timed.  Participants in the 8k are welcome to participate in the 1k.  Both races are stroller and pet friendly.  A post race concert will feature musician Tony Barnes.

• Packet Pick-up will take place Friday, September 5 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Carolina Hotel (80 Carolina Vista Drive), part of  the Pinehurst Resort (Kendall Room)
